Sunday, July 5, my granddaughter and I drove to Richmond to the Craneway, a new development on the waterfront, where the Bay Trail opened its latest link. We followed the Craneway terminus past Rosie the Riveter Memorial to the Dog Park (by Costco's),past the Albany trail, to Bay Meadows where we rode through the parking lot to Berkeley, where at the soccer park my six year old companion's legs gave out and her mother brought the sag truck so she didn't have to ride the ten or so miles back to Richmond for the car. These are photos I took on my leisurely ride back.
At a time historically when conversation is for the most part a lost art, I am amazed that the only people talking are those trapped next to each other on flights or in prison cells on lockdown, or on sinking ships once the last lifeboat is filled. Conversation is not the penalty for isolation, but often it feels such.
