Perfect Love

December 1 was World AIDS Day. To remember those who lost their lives unneccessarily to this man made disease, I went to Michael Buck's Perfect Love event at the Black New World. The vibe was good, but the people who needed to be there were not. I didn't recognize anyone I didn't know. The poetry was awesome, especially that of a brother named Inner City and Ise Lyfe. Greg Bridges was the host and Sisters June and Sharifa brought a pot of black beans and rice, plus cider for us. It was a welcome repast considering the chilliness of the room, while a really cool DJ spun great R&B hits. It was a mellow evening that ended all too soon.
